Prevent Heart Disease - Get Up and Go Girl!

Dr. BeLieu
Renee BeLieu, M.D.

What's the number one killer of women in America? Breast cancer? Ovarian cancer? No. It's heart disease--the same as for men.

But the warning signs in women don't follow the same patterns as in men. When having a heart attack, we usually don't have the classic sensations of an elephant sitting on our chest or pain radiating down the left arm. For most women, a heart attack may be signaled by abdominal pain, back pain, shoulder pain, or any pain that gets worse when active.

Welcome to Kansas City Women’s Clinic (KCWC) Web site, your resource for information regarding your obstetrical and gynecological care. We are continuing a tradition of excellence that began in 1953, when Dr. Sam Montello started one of the first private practices in the Kansas City area focusing on women’s health. Today, we have grown to include a staff of 11 board-certified obstetricians/gynecologists who practice on the campuses of Overland Park Regional Medical Center and Saint Luke’s South Hospital.

Because KCWC was established at the height of the baby boom, our doctors have had the opportunity to care for several generations of Kansas City women at every stage of their lives. In spite of a changing health care environment, especially during the past decade, our goal remains the same—to develop a relationship with you—a relationship built on professionalism, respect and trust. This allows us to work together to effectively meet your health care needs.

Whether you come to us to help you deliver a healthy baby, monitor your obstetrical and gynecological health, or manage your midlife health concerns and beyond, you will find the KCWC staff takes an active interest in you and your health. We thank you for visiting our Web site, and invite you to learn more about our physicians, our offices and our services.
