About Melissa S. Liddle
Growing up in a rural community where her father worked in construction and her mother as a nurse, Melissa soon saw the need for advanced medical care providers, especially in the area of women’s health. This desire initially led her into nursing at a baccalaureate level.
After becoming a registered nurse, she began working at Overland Park Regional Medical Center on the Labor and Delivery unit. Melissa quickly realized her passion to care for women, newborns and the family unit. Along with her experiences as a Labor and Delivery nurse, she worked as an Antepartum nurse, thus expanding her knowledge about the perinatal period. Prior to the completion of her master’s degree, she also worked as an office nurse in a maternal-fetal medicine office.
These experiences, combined with a close working relationship with the physicians of the Kansas City Women’s Clinic, are what led Melissa to join KCWC as an advanced practice nurse. It is here that Melissa enjoys working closely with the adolescent and young adult population. “This is where the ‘groundwork’ is laid. That is, it is through early lifestyle choices that influence the future health of young women,” Melissa says. “It is my goal to provide each and every patient with education and understanding regarding her care so that she may make herself a priority.”
Melissa continues to work as an advanced practice nurse on the Antepartum Unit at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Her combined inpatient and outpatient experiences with the obstetrical patient population are instrumental in providing the finest care to the patients of Kansas City Women’s Clinic.
